When is the last time you tuned up your roof?

You tune up your car.  You tune your violin. You tune your piano. You tune (install updates) on your computer/phone.  We recommend you have a roof tune up once a year.

What is a roof tune up?

A roof tune up is when you have roof technician (not a salesperson) inspect your roof.  He is looking for broken or missing roofing, damaged flashing, shingle delamination, broken ventilation assemblies, missing sealant and a hot of other items.

Why is this important?

Roofs take a lot of abuse often from events we are not even aware of such as winds, blowing debris and of course hail. Just general wear tear from age and weather can create issues as well. These events can create future failures for your roof.

Why a roofing technician?

By having a technician(not a salesperson) get on the roof we can find potential issues and offer guidance on options.  A roofing technician understands how roofs are to be installed and is familar with many of the issues which require attention. A sales person may only have a rudimentery knowledge of some roofs and is probalby more apt to miss items that a trained eye will notice.

What can this accomplish?

Often during these roof tune ups a trained technician may discover other issues which require attention related to masonry, gutters or vent systems. Another important factor in having a technician instead of a sales person is the technician is being paid to inspect the roof. A sales person only gets paid if he sells a new roof.

Our Estate Management Members receive an annual roof tune up as part of most of our Home Care Plans. If you would like more information on how your home can receive a roof tune up, please reach out to our Estate Management Services team.
